FAQs

Q: How would you describe your style?

A: I love genuine images that are filled with emotion. I love vibrant colors and warm sunshine. I seek out authentic moments that make me FEEL something. Most photos begin with being lightly posed, meaning I’ll help get you into place first, and then encourage interaction and real expressions while we’re snapping away.

My work is most often categorized as lifestyle photography.

Q: How do I schedule a session?

A: You can book by clicking HERE. For bookings, I take a $100 deposit which can be paid through Venmo, credit card, or a hand-delivered check. I shoot by appointment only. A few weeks' notice is usually enough to book.

Q: Where are the pictures taken?

A: I shoot on-location around the Bay Area, either outdoors or in my clients’ homes. Travel is included for locations within the Bay Area.

Q: How long will the shoot take?

A: Family & Babies Sessions take about 1 hour

Maternity Sessions Sessions take about 1 hour

Newborn Sessions take about 3 hours

Engagement Sessions take about 1 hour

Wedding Event Days vary upon the package selected. See Wedding FAQs below for additional timing information.

Q: How many photos will I get?

A: Initial pricing includes 5 high-resolution digital images (with the exception of headshots, newborn and weddings).

Most Clients order 10-15 High-Resolution Digital Images.

Q: What should I wear?

A: I recommend wearing items you feel the most comfortable and confident in. Bring at least a couple of extra outfits, if you’re uncertain and want some support from me in the selection of what will work best in our location. Then together we’ll pick out what works best for the shoot. Avoid graphics, as well as, neon colors that detract from your face. If there are multiple people in the shoot, I recommend wearing similar tones and styles, but try to steer clear of identical outfits.

Q: When do I get to see the proofs?

A: We will schedule an in person or ZOOM Photo Viewing Appointment with the gallery of 50-80 individually edited images in digital format within two weeks of your session!

Q: When do I get my finished pictures?

A: Finished images chosen during the ZOOM Photo Viewing Appointment will be emailed via a hightail link within 2 days, depending on the number of images ordered. If you need them sooner, let me know and I can often accommodate your needs.

Q: Do you touch up all the images in our image download?

A:Yes, we do. Every image we deliver is post-produced with our unique signature style of post-production. This involves color correction, exposure adjustment, selective black and white processing, clarity adjustments, tone-mapping, and other corrections.

Q: Do you shoot in JPEG, Small Raw, or Large Raw?

A: I shoot my images in Large Raw.

Q: Do I get the copyright to my photos?

A: I include a print release when I deliver the digital images.

DAY

FAQs

Q: How long will it take to see my photos?

A: Weddings normally take 4-6 weeks. Typically, I will share a social media sneak peek shortly after the wedding. Please let me know if that is something you don't prefer.

Q: I don't photograph well and I'm super awkward - can you help me?

A: Yes, of course! I understand that you might not have experience being photographed and I'm here to help.  Through my easy shooting style and natural posing, I make sure that you look natural, happy, and comfortable in your photos. I promise, I provide a lot of direct and make it painless and fun, and it won't be nearly as bad as you think!

Q: How many hours do you suggest we set aside for wedding day photos?

A: TOTAL AVERAGE DAY TIME ALLOTMENT - 8 hours. Please see the time breakdown below.

DETAILS SHOTS - RINGS, DRESS, SHOES, ETC

Ideal Time Allotment – 30 minutes

Ideal Time of the Day – Morning

Ideal Location – Bridal Suite or Hotel Suite

Advice – Having at least 30 minutes for details ensures that I have plenty of time to get that perfect photo of the dress, rings, shoes, bouquets, and the other details of the day.

PREPARATION

Ideal Time Allotment – 60 minutes

Ideal Time of the Day – Morning or Early Afternoon

Ideal Location – Bridal Suite or Hotel Suite

Advice – Having an hour of preparation is ideal for my style. During this time, we are getting close-ups of the makeup and hair being applied as well as the candid moments and the bridesmaids and groomsmen get ready for the day. Keep in mind that these are some of the most emotional and fun times of the day, so you don’t want to cut it short.

INDIVIDUAL PORTRAITS

Ideal Time Allotment – 30 minutes

Ideal Time of the Day – Morning or Early Afternoon

Ideal Location – Bridal Suite, Hotel Suite, Venue Lobby, or Venue Garden

Advice – Right after prep is the best time for individual portraits of the bride and groom (separately). Besides makeup and hair being completely fresh, the day hasn’t gotten hectic yet so we can take our time and get those perfect portraits.

FIRST LOOK AND DAYTIME COUPLES SESSION

Ideal Time Allotment – 45-60 minutes

Ideal Time of the Day – Morning or Early Afternoon

Ideal Location – Venue Garden, Empty Venue Hallway (shaded areas with natural light)

Advice – The first look should be around 45-60 minutes. During this time, the bride and groom enjoy seeing each other for the first time on the wedding day. While the actual first look might only be 5-10 minutes, the rest of the time is spent on a few basic portraits of the bride and groom.

WEDDING PARTY PHOTOS

Ideal Time of the Day – Morning or Afternoon

Ideal Location -Venue Lobby, Venue Garden, Beach, Park, Off-site Location

Advice – Wedding Party Photos should be around 45 minutes to 1 hour. During this time, we get a variety of shots in a variety of poses. We start off with the basic, classic photos focused on great expressions and lighting.

IMMEDIATE FAMILY FORMALS

Ideal Time Allotment – 30-45 minutes

Ideal Time of the Day – Morning or Afternoon

Ideal Location -Venue Lobby, Venue Garden, Beach, Park, Off-site Location

Advice – Immediate Family Photos should take another 45 minutes. It’s important to have additional images with your parents, grandparents, and siblings beyond the basic formal (mentioned in the section below).

CEREMONY

Ideal Time Allotment – TBD

Ideal Location – Ceremony Site

Ideal Time of the Day – Morning or Afternoon

Advice – It is best to have as many of your guests sit as far forward and to the inside of the seats next to the aisle as possible

COUPLES SESSION – RECEPTION SNEAK OUT

Ideal Time Allotment – 20-30 minutes

Ideal Time of the Day – Dusk to Night-Time

Ideal Location – Areas with interesting lights, fountains, cityscapes, and mirrors

Advice – During the reception, please plan on sneaking out for a couple of night shots. We only need 20-30 minutes, as we understand the importance of being a good host.

RECEPTION

Ideal Time Allotment – 60 minutes to 2 hours

Ideal Time of the Day – Afternoon to Evening Time

Ideal Location – Reception Location

Advice – You will want to make sure that all of the special moments are captured during this timeframe, including Reception Entrance, Speeches, Cake Cutting, First Dance, Parents Dance, and any other moments important to your day.
